Microsoft Lands Final Fantasy Creator

Microsoft has landed the creator of Japan's most popular fantasy game to produce titles for the company's next-generation Xbox which is due out in November of 2005.

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the guy who created the Final Fantasy game series, has agreed to make two role-playing games exclusively for the next version of the Xbox, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

The move appears to be a bid to win fans for its game consoles in Japan, the world's second-largest videogame market. Xbox could use a little help here in the states to...a lot of the games for the current Xbox quite frankly, well, suck.
