Gaming Not Just for Guys...

I was reading an article today at http://www.digitaldivide.net/news/view.php?HeadlineID=523 that talks about women/girls starting to make their way into the gaming community. While game makers and marketers continue to primarily focus on the male market, ages 16 - 35, this expaning market of female gamers is sure to get the attention of the game makers & game marketers.

For years I've seen the occassional girl on our Counter Strike, and now Counter Strike Source server. We have a couple female members that I'm aware of in our game forums as well. I'm all for more female players. In video games, unlike sports, physical ability is not important. Men and women compete on an "equal" playing field...hence the whipping some of our female players lay on the male players on our Source server.

You should be nice to the ladies in real life...when it comes to gaming though make sure to treat them just like "one of the guys";-)
